Definitely one of the coolest looking birds out there – the toco toucan. To me they always look a bit unreal due to their large bill. The inside is mostly hollow, so it is actually pretty light. Research has also shown that one function is as a surface area for heat exchange. The bill has the ability to modify blood flow and so regulate heat distribution.
