I wanted to photograph these awesome geladas already for a while. A couple of weeks ago it finally happened. We travelled to the Semien Mountain National Park in northern Ethiopia. They are found only in the high grassland of the deep gorges of the central Ethiopian plateau. They live in elevations 1,800–4,400 m above sea level, using the cliffs for sleeping and montane grasslands for foraging. They are the only primates primarily being grazers.
