This was one of the most cruel sightings we witnessed. Two wild dogs chased down a pregnant impala just next to our vehicle during a night safari. It took them around 2-5 min to make the final kill, repeatedly biting the legs, belly, and rump. Their success rate in hunting is much higher than for leopards or lions. Their chases have up to 90% success rate. Nevertheless their hunting style is quite brutal, as they do not suffocate their prey. That’s raw nature.
